"Cell phone technology lets you outsmart the traffic."

January 9, 2006

Via an anonymous signaling concept, this system, already operational, will be able to take anonymous data on the location of people based on their cell phones. This information will then be exploited into traffic statistics and will directly be relayed to the traffic management system already in place. This system is quick, easy to install and has no problem of morality concerning privacy.

But the idea of extracting traveler information from cell phones is not new. In the 90's they already thought of a similar idea but this proved to be, back then, economically and operationally un-feasible. Now, after testing the system, Cellint is currently in negotiations with a number of DOTs in the US and in Europe.

To believe that it is a country like Israel conflicted with the problem of congestions at a smaller level as say the United States. They have been proven to be more successful in achieving a maximized efficiency of existing roads, instead of building more, and at a fraction of the cost.
